Brief update (before they wake!)
Apr. 2nd, 2010 12:54 pmThings are slowly returning to some kind of a routine now we are home, as I am breastfeeding twins this is adding to the chaos and reducing the routine as tandam feeding is not going so well so having to feed one then the other (and not a huge gap between feedings means constant feeding so would not advise a visit unless you don't mind norkage akimbo!)
The local breast support group Little Angels is being brilliant, it is a Derbyshire scheme and combines local volunteers and paid health professionals to pop in and be on 24 hour call for advice, support and peer guidence from people who have done it, and todays visit was a twin mum who breastfed her two for two years. She advised to do seperate feeds until Thomas, who is less of an attachment natural, finds his happy place and we can work positioning around him.
We will be bringing the twins out to meet all in the next week or so, possibly a meal out somewhere like the Walkley Cottage next weekend, will confirm nearer the time. Until then we are pretty busy with medical appointments, midwife check ups and registering the births. Due to Emily's unusual birth (butt first and much quicker than planned due to a dropped heart rate) she now has to redo her hearing check which she failed (hopefully due to amount of gunge she came out wearing as she looked like a Stollen) and also has to have her hip joints checked over by a consultant due to appearing bum first.
If you would like to meet up or come over, please be prepared for the large amount of chaos that currently rules the house, it is a mess and we would rather sleep than sort it at the moment so it will not be tidy if and when you visit!
We has babies, wow!
